What the gut does not move, it keeps.
Transit time governs both comfort and clearance; as it lengthens, distension and incomplete evacuation follow. Motility it addresses outright, and a second arm reaches the adipocyte — the messenger and kinase that initiate fat release (cAMP, PKA) and the hydrolases that perform it (ATGL, HSL).
Digestion upstream decides how much arrives to be moved at all, and weight is where the second arm reports: clearance and fat release are addressed in one pass rather than two.
Eight primary pathways of the ten it targets. A pathway opens only on graded, published evidence, shown with its source at the ingredient level.

The story of Purge (Intestinal Clearance)
Purge — ‘The Great Clear-Out’ — for the day that ends heavier than it began. It begins as a little tightness after breakfast. By evening the fullness has outlasted the meal that started it. One morning brings nothing at all, then a second, then a third, and the heaviness follows you through every hour in between. You have been told to drink more water and wait. But a body was never built to hold on like this. What it does not need was made to keep moving, and to leave. First, the breath you cannot let out: the feeling of trapped gas, and a fullness that will not pass (bloating). It is real, it is measured in clinical trials on the symptoms people report, and it can be eased. Then the journey itself. Everything you eat travels one long road, and the time it takes is counted in hours (gut transit). When the road slows, what should leave is left waiting, and movements grow fewer, harder and less complete (constipation). Clear the road and the waiting gives way: movements come more often, they come softer, and they come complete. A great clear-out has a second exit, and it runs through the fat cell. Stored fat answers to a command: a message relayed inside the cell (cyclic AMP), and a switch thrown (protein kinase A). The switch opens the store to the enzymes that take it apart, bond by bond (ATGL, then hormone-sensitive lipase), and what was held is let go (lipolysis). Even the frame those fats were hung on leaves the cell, and it is what researchers measure to know fat has truly left it (glycerol release). Clearance and fat release are addressed in one pass rather than two. A settled stomach is the near effect, and digestion upstream decides how much arrives to be moved at all. On the second arm, the cell’s go-signal is what carries the instruction into the fat cell before any hydrolase can act. Weight is where that arm reports — quietly, and some weeks after the first one has already made itself obvious. Two exits, one formula: the held breath let out, the road cleared, the waiting over, and stored fat set free at the switch. That heaviness was never meant to stay. This is the great clear-out.
Two exits, one formula — the switch that lets stored fat out of the cell, and the passage that moves everything else along.

The studies, ingredient by ingredient
In a six-week double-blind trial of 247 adults, artichoke leaf extract improved digestive comfort and quality of life more than placebo.
It works through the cell's energy-deficit sensor to enhance fat release.
Black ginger took abdominal fat down where it is measured, not estimated: in a twelve-week placebo-controlled trial, visceral, subcutaneous and total fat area all fell on CT, with triglycerides falling alongside.
In a three-arm, double-blind randomized trial in irritable bowel syndrome, anise oil eased bloating, abdominal discomfort and difficult defecation more than placebo, and the benefit held through two weeks of follow-up.
In a double-blind, placebo-controlled randomized trial, 82 percent of evaluable participants taking the papaya preparation benefited on constipation from regular use, a significantly larger share than on placebo.
In adults aged sixty and over with functional constipation, Cassia fistula outperformed lactulose, a standard laxative: bowel movements rose from fewer than two a week to more than eight, against fewer than six on lactulose.
Over twelve weeks fasting insulin fell where placebo's drifted up, and insulin resistance followed.
In a randomized trial of adults whose bowels moved too seldom, dried plum raised both how often and how much against a control group, and it was well tolerated.
Fig reaches all three of Purge’s gut promises. Against placebo it shortened the passage through the colon and improved stool form and abdominal comfort; in a second randomized trial it eased distention and raised the frequency of bowel movements.
In human fat cells, forskolin drove the release of stored fat by switching on the messenger-making enzyme directly.
Treated fat cells released more glycerol and free fatty acids, carried more of the activated second lipase, and raised both lipase genes and proteins - then a blocker of the adrenaline kinase wiped the whole effect out. Proved by taking it away.
Kiwifruit carries two of Purge’s promises from one fruit. Pooled across randomized trials, it raised complete bowel movements per week and softened the stool, and in constipation-predominant irritable bowel it shortened the time through the colon.
Across randomized trials in irritable bowel syndrome, peppermint oil eased overall symptoms and abdominal pain more than placebo.
Measured across the whole fat-release chain in one experiment, this pair raised the messenger 99.5%, the rate-limiting lipase 100.8% and glycerol out of the cell 139%.
A review of fat-release compounds names ursolic acid among those that lower the neutral fat held inside the cell and raise free fatty acid release.
The withanolide-rich leaf raised both lipase genes and the browning genes, cutting stored fat inside the cell to 41.58%.
Named within the triterpenoid group shown to lower the neutral fat held inside the cell while raising free fatty acid release — the two measurements that define the step.
Tested with capsaicin and camphor in one experiment, it raised glycerol release, and the lipase gene rose significantly in every treatment group.
In mature fat cells, Cordyceps militaris extract raised the active form of the second lipase, and the fat droplets shrank.
Fed to obese animals on a fattening diet, genipin mobilized stored fat and turned white fat toward the browner kind that burns fuel off.
Kaempferol raised both major lipase genes by name and cut the fat stored inside the cell by thirty-nine percent in the same experiment.
A petroleum-ether leaf fraction raised the second lipase while lowering four fat-storage proteins.
In fat cells, the mycelium extract raised glycerol release and the activating marks on the second lipase at both sites; blocking the adrenaline kinase took them back down.
In fat cells, the water-soluble leaf fraction raised glycerol release and the active forms of the adrenaline kinase and the second lipase; blocking the kinase took the signal back down.
