Depleting the reduced glutathione pool in mouse embryonic fibroblasts raised reactive oxygen species and oxidative DNA damage, with nuclear glutathione showing the strongest inverse correlation with DNA strand breaks and 8-oxo-2'-deoxyguanosine lesions, so the reduced-glutathione pool that glutathione reductase regenerates suppresses DNA damage. doi 10.1093/mutage/gel043 · PMID 17012304
