Interstellar grade B

Preclinical: Mechanistic, cell or animal evidence. No single preclinical driver opens a pathway on its own.

Rhubarb root's emodin cools the inflammatory fire in lung tissue and guards its delicate air sacs, so oxygen crosses into the blood more readily.

What the evidence shows

Every line below is carried on the blend page that makes the claim. Follow it to the pathway and its sources.

Works on both halves of the illness, and it was given by mouth. Left ventricular function improved in the autoimmune model; against the virus it suppresses the inflammatory axis the infection exploits. Sourced from Rheum palmatum, and only Rheum palmatum: this is the rhubarb root itself, which is what you receive, and emodin is one anthraquinone inside it. The safety literature on purified emodin — mutagenic in a bacterial assay after metabolic activation, liver effects infused into rodent diet — describes the isolated compound at pharmacological dose, and the same literature states the concentrations in traditional preparations may sit below those thresholds. A formula is not a single isolated molecule.
